the annual television report
Around this time every year I usually summarize the series I follow have been developed over years and present a list of the top six television series currently. why change tradition? This is the 2008 list.
6th Lost
season: 4
placement last year: 10
why: after a really slow third season was finally lost a series to be reckoned with again. better script, more rapid development and an interesting nowadays flashbacks (or flash forwards, rather) was that now I actually can not wait for next season.
5th Heroes
season: 3
placement last year: 5
why: even heroes have gotten better this year, I can not bring the series high on the list since the competition this year has been very tough. Overall, very entertaining but minus points for the authors simply dripped some approaches and seems to have written out some characters from the series without discernible explanation.
4th Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
season: 2
placement last year: -
why: when I finally swallowed my pride and started watching a series based on a film series I adore (well, the first two anyway), I realized why it had been so much talk. when the terminator is good is it really fucking good. it has some nerperioder and / or unnecessary sections, but on the whole, it is the best series based on a movie since buffy.
third TrueBlood
season: 1
placement last year: -
why: a vampire series that takes the best of the vampire myths, highlights the ridiculous and puts events in a small hole in the American South. how can you not love it? Moreover, as an extra bonus, Alexander SkarsgÄrd as 1,000-year-old Swedish vampire. sweet.
second Battlestar Galactica
season: 4
placement last year: 1
why: after three years, Battlestar Galactica nice to skip a placement on the list. it is still one of the most well written series I've seen, but with incredibly elaborate previous seasons are also high expectations - something that I think the series has not really been able to live up to this year. hopefully the last half of the fourth season, becoming something quite extraordinary.
first dexter
season: 3
placement last year: 2
why: last year, I was worried that the series would begin to repeat itself. it would appear that my fears were unnecessary - Dexter goes from strength to strength. it is currently the most well-written, well played and well produced television show that appears.
just off the list: 7th one tree hill (7), 8. Fringe (-), 9. scrubs (3)
bit further down the list: 10th Criminal Minds (8), Kyle XY (6)
